November Unboxing: Vegan Cuts Snack Box

November may be coming to a close but I have another Vegan Cuts snack box to share with you. I enjoyed my first snack box last month, so I decided to get another one for this month. I have also repurchased some of my favorites in the last month's box and this month's too. It's very exciting to learn about new vegan-friendly snacks.

BzzAgent Unboxing JUST Water & Review 2016 @JUSTisbetter #complimentsofJUST

Water is super important to the nourishment of our bodies but it is also important to consider how we contain the water we drink. I used to be a tap water, right out of the faucet, kind of gal but the water started tasting a little weird so I had to change over to drinking filtered or Spring Water. So the water that I purchase now comes in large plastic containers and I pay a 10 cent CRV fee as well, for the plastic. With the amount of water that I drink in the plastic containers, I make sure that I recycle too. 

Today, I tried JUST WATER, 100% Spring Water in a paper-based bottle, from my BzzAgent campaign. In the following video review, I shared more about this brand and my personal review of the water, after trying it.

Always Thin Regular Daily Liners

I did not realize it, but I was already using Always Thin Dailies on a regular basis. So, when I received these in my BzzAgent box, I was already a satisfied user. I like how thin they are because having a bulky pantyliner is not comfortable to wear. They are unscented, which is another plus to avoid yeast infections. They provide edge-to-edge adhesive, which keeps then attached to my panties. I did feel like they complimented by active lifestyle and I didn't notice that I was wearing them at all. I will definitely continue to wear them for added protection and everyday freshness on the go. THUMBS UP from me!



Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner




Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner works well with my hair type. I need moisture in order for my hair to maintain its liveliness and strength. When I washed with the shampoo, I did not feel that stripped feeling and the conditioner really softened my hair. I could feel it conditioning my hair while I was washing it. I did leave the conditioner in for 8 - 10 minutes while I showered, so it could work really well. I like this shampoo and conditioner and would use it as a backup if my regular shampoo and conditioner were finished. THUMBS UP from me!







Head & Shoulders Cowash Conditioner


This Head & Shoulders Cowash Conditioner didn't work so well for me. Before I changed my shampoo and conditioner to the current ones, I used regular Head & Shoulders for sometime. I was getting really itchy scalp while using it so that's why I changed to the other products. When I washed my hair with this Head & Shoulders Cowash Conditioner, it felt like my hair was being stripped when I used it after shampooing, as instructed. I also started to get really itchy scalp again, so I didn't use it again. The idea is good for dandruff shampoo users, so give it a try. It may work for you. However, I have to give it a THUMBS DOWN.




Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream



The Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream spreads nicely onto my skin. I applied it after my normally cleansing routine, morning and night, and it did not irritate my face. I would have to continue to use it for a longer period of time in order to get a more detailed idea of its 'toning' results. However, it does have a nice, settling, smell too. THUMBS UP from me.

My Product Reviews

Kellogg's Special K Protein Cinnamon Brown Sugar Crunch Cereal
During my morning, I tried Kellogg's Special K Protein Cinnamon Brown Sugar Crunch cereal with some Cashew milk. This particular cereal spotlighted it's 'Protein' and was filling enough to fulfill my morning hunger. It has 7 grams of protein and if you drink milk, that would add 4 additional grams according to the front of the box. My cashew milk went perfectly fine with it. The cereal was lightly sweetened with the cinnamon brown sugar, so not too sweet. It has a crunchy bite when in milk, but it can also be eaten as a snack too without the milk. I did have it as a midday snack a couple of times. I will add this cereal to my cereal list options when I go grocery shopping. I may just buy it again. There are so many cereals on the market but this one was filling enough and just sweet enough to satisfy my taste buds and my hunger until lunchtime.



Kellogg's Special K Chewy Nut Bars
Initially, I thought that these Special K Chewy Nut Bars were going to be like all of the rest that I have eaten. I get granola bars, breakfast bars, and snack bars, often, and they all pretty much taste the same. However, after my first bite into these nut bars, I was shocked! I was thoroughly impressed with the number of peanuts, the chocolate on the back of the bar, then some chocolate squares on the front with more nuts and morsels. Plus, they are Gluten-Free, which is a big plus since I'm looking for foods and snack options that are moving in that direction. This definitely could easily replace a slice of cake, donuts, or the usual after-dinner desserts, and it's healthier for you. I had this bar during  my lunchtime and as an after-dinner dessert. I even had a friend try one and she was just as surprised at how fresh, tasty, wholesome they were. I can say that this is my new go-to snack bar, hands down. Simply, Wow!

BzzAgent Unboxing and #ProductReview for Silk Cashew Milk @LoveMySilk

Selena Thinking Out Loud With Purpose had the opportunity to join a new BzzAgent campaign to experience one free half gallon of SILK Cashew Milk! I love my Silk Soy Milk, but now I tried their cashew milk. I enjoy cashews as a nice snack during the day, but as milk, well, I don't know. So, in this YouTube video below, I share my personal review of this product. 



My Product Review
I like that this SILK Cashew Milk is not too sweet, even though it is their original with 7 grams of sugar. I like that the Cashew milk is suttle-to-taste and it is indeed creamy. I would definitely buy this milk again because it is just as nice as Silk Soy milk, which I do buy regularly. I can enjoy this milk easily by glass or with my favorite cereal. I am always open to trying new products and this one was one that I enjoyed trying for free as a BzzAgent. It is also nicely priced in my local Ralphs supermarket at about $3.99, so that's reasonably priced to me. I even used it one morning to prepare pancakes and they came out fluffy with a nice sweetness to them. I recommend that you give it a try as well and tell me what you think!

BzzAgent Unboxing and #Review of @Kroger Co. Family of Brands!

Selena Thinking Out Loud With Purpose had the opportunity to try some new products in the Kroger company family of brands. In the following video, I share a new BzzAgent unboxing and then a review of what I experienced with some of the products below.




My Personal Review of Products

During my grocery shopping trips, I look for offerings from at least 7 of these brands at my local Ralphs, a sister store of Kroger. Eating healthy can be simple and convenient. Also satisfying that occasional sweet tooth is just as good too with these brands. Check them out!

The Psst! brand is indeed one of my favorites in the Kroger family brand of products. First off, this brand's prices are affordable for any size family. I had the opportunity to try some of their brownie mix. It was a simple, quick, dessert to make. The brownies were chewy and perfect with a scoop of ice cream. The packaging is very clean and attractive. I was shopping in my local Ralphs, a sister store of Krogers, and I noticed they had paper towels and toilet paper too, in large packs, so I purchased one of each. Now I'm seeing Psst! brand items everywhere I turn. The only reason why I gave them 4 stars is because the toilet paper is a bit rough. However, I have continued to purchase the brownie mix and I'm open to trying other products they offer in the future.

Prepare A Meat-Free #Dinner with @Gardein - BzzAgent Unboxing and #ProductReview (Video Inside)

Here at Selena Thinking Out Loud with Purpose I tried a new meatless product brand called Gardein. Being a vegetarian, I am always open to trying new meatless products. It makes my life a whole lot easier with quick meals, which is what I have to prepare during the week. I enjoy cooking from home so when I can whip up a healthy, fresh, seasoned, wholesome, meal, I am all in! I tried three of Gardein's meat-free products and have my personal review of each below. I did have the opportunity to try a free Gardein product with a free coupon I got free as a BzzAgent as well.

In the following YouTube video, I share the BzzAgent Unboxing and what were some of my experiences eating the Gardein Chipotle Lime Crispy Fingers and their Mandarin Orange Crispy Chick'n. Gardein Chipotle Lime Crispy Fingers

This was the first time trying the Gardein Chipotle Lime Crispy Fingers. I could taste the lime accentuating these meatless fingers but I didn't notice too much of the Chipotle though. They are small, but the serving size of two was actually just enough because they do have that lightly-breaded Chipotle, Lime, breading. It was a meatless, food item I never thought that I would purchase, but they are fast to prepare in the oven on 450 degree for 20-25 minutes and they come out crispy, but be careful to oil the pan a little bit so that they don't stick. They brown pretty quickly so monitor them halfway through baking. 

I did prepare these with some grits and it really turned out to be a pleasantly-satisfying dinner for me. I will buy them again because they are fast and easy, taste fresh, and meatless with a nice lime flavor. I bought them at Kroger (Ralphs) for about $3.49, so that's reasonable. 





Mandarin Orange Crispy Chick'n
I just happened to pick up a bag of Mandarin Orange Crispy Chick'n, when I was shopping at Kroger (Ralphs). I was looking for something really quick that I could prepare and feel full after I ate it. I decided to prepare the entire bag so that I could reheat any leftovers the next day. I put a little olive oil into a frying pan and then the meatless chick'n. They gradually brown on medium heat and I turned them frequently because they do brown very quickly. However, I wanted to make sure that they were cooking thorough. I noticed a packet of Mandarin Orange sauce inside of the package and I put it into some warm water until it thawed, according to the package instructions. Once the sauce was ready, I opened the packet and combined it with the chick'n and it quickly affixed together to form an attractive looking orange chick'n. 

If I wasn't a vegetarian, I would have thought that they were from an Asian take-out restaurant. They tasted great too, like a restaurant-prepared, crispy, orange chicken. I would recommend taking them off of the stove as soon as they are finished combining with the orange sauce to avoid overcooking the meatless chick'n, but they were nice. I had them with some brown rice and it was definitely filling and I was satisfied. I will most likely buy this one again also. They cost the same as the Crispy Fingers so, nicely priced.


Gardein Classic Meatless Meatballs

Wow! These were fantastic to be meat-free. I have tried a lot of different veggie burgers and another brand of meat-free meatballs, and these are much better. They have a nice flavor. The size of the meatballs are worth the money. I believe that I paid around $3.49 for them at Kroger (Ralphs) and they went SO well with a side of freshly-grown, green beans I bought from the produce section. They heated quickly within 20 mins of being put in some tomato, pasta sauce. 

Since I have not always been a vegetarian (I converted in the year 2000), I can compare these to hamburger meatballs and say that they have a very similar consistency and texture. When I bit into them, they were flavorful and meaty as if they were not meatless. I believe kids, friends, and meat-eaters would like these if you didn't let them on to your secret. 

Since I have been a vegetarian now for 14 years now, I see how much meat-free foods have improved and these are a great example of this. I would buy them again for sure. I could also do meatball subs or a nice spaghetti pasta with sauce too! I like having different options.

I visit my local Ralph's, pretty often for my essentials and decided to try the Simple Truth Organic Ready to Bake Bread and Simple Truth Organic Greek Yogurt Cup, with my free coupons. 

Simple Truth Organic Ready to Bake Bread

I have to say, the Ready to Bake Bread was fresh, great toasted with a little butter for breakfast. I sliced it and toasted it, which was my preference. It did come with instructions to place the entire loaf in the oven, which I recommend if you're having it with a family meal. This was one of the winners. 

Then I went on to try the Greek Yogurt Cup and I was very pleased with this item as well. The Greek yogurt was very rich and smooth. Fruit was at the bottom and once mixed together with the Greek Yogurt, it accentuated the taste of the yogurt. I tried their blueberry fruit on the bottom cup. The price was reasonable and I will definitely purchase this Simple Truth Organic brand of Greek yogurt again. 

I find myself looking for Simple Truth Organic products even more now since trying their products with BzzAgent and will purchase my winners again, mentioned here.

BzzAgent Unboxing Product Review for Secret Clear Gel OUTLAST Deodorant
Wow! That's what I said to myself when I first read the front of this Secret deodorant bottle. 48 hours! That's a long time for a deodorant to work. It also talked about leaving no white mark residue, which is also VERY important, so I was definitely curious to try it out.

I tried the Secret Clear Gel OUTLAST deodorant with the Completely Clean scent. It had a pleasant smell when I popped open the top and the solid was indeed clear gel. After taking a shower, I applied the deodorant and could feel it creating a barrier in my armpits. It felt like my armpits were being sealed to avoid any moisture, but it wasn't sticky or anything but I could feel the barrier of protection. I had SO many things to get done, from boxing items for shipment, to yoga class, to working on editing tasks, etc, so this solid really worked when I felt myself getting anxious. I found myself checking my armpits throughout the day, after yoga class, etc, and it was still working, while I was lifting, sealing, and labeling boxes to mail. I also never noticed any white streaks on my camisoles or blouses so that's a plus.

I have used other brands of Secret in the past, so they already had a great track record with me, but I really like this deodorant. Sometimes, with other solids, I do have to reapply deodorant or sometimes wonder if I even applied any because I don't notice it there or working at all. So, I can say that it does it's job and since I did work like I was running a 48 hour marathon, I would have to say that this solid does work well under pressure. It did keep me well-protected and with my busy schedule, moving around this town, it stood up to my schedule.

Overall, I would recommend Secret Clear Gel OUTLAST deodorant. I would also purchase it again if it is reasonably priced and available in my regularly-shopped stores. Grade A

My Product Review for Silk Blends Almond Coconut Milk

Since becoming a vegetarian, I have drank my share of Silk soy milk, which I do like a lot. As a Bzzagent, having the opportunity to try Silk's Almond Coconut milk was a nice change from my usual purchase. 

I tried this milk two different ways, by glass and then on my morning cereal for 1 week, until I emptied the container. I was pleased with the taste and it's rich, thickness, in consistency. I purchased the Original and noticed that the coconut and almonds balanced each other out very nicely. I like coconut anyway, but there was an equal partnership with the two. I did find that the taste of the milk is more prominent when drank from a glass, rather than in cereal. The cereal seemed to overpower the milk and then it tasted just like regular soy milk or a plain milk, I'm used to having. 

Over the week of using this milk, I realized that I could include this milk into my regular, breakfast, routine. It was a nice change and coconut lovin good with almonds too! 

I would definitely recommend this milk to you, my friends, or anyone who has lactose intolerance or just want to enjoy a different type of milk. I will definitely purchase it again because of the taste and the price is good as well in my local Kroger store. Grade: A

Luvsome Indoor Formula Cat Food Review

I have 2 cat-roomies, living with me. My 4 year old cat, Sonia and my 14 year old, Theodore (Theo for short). I have to watch Theo's diet because he can gain weight fast, which causes him to breathe heavily. So, when trying Luvsome, I looked for their Indoor Formula cat food. My cats are both indoor cats and it's important to me that they get a well-balanced diet. 

It was recommended to mix some current food with the new brand of food, but I just happened to run out of their current food when the Luvsome coupons arrived in my BzzAgent kit. So, I gave both cats the Luvsome Indoor Formula cat food one morning on its own. Before I knew it, Theo was digging in and I mean eating like a mad-man. He definitely put into action the saying, "Now You See It, Now You Don't". He is definitely a fan! 

On the other hand, my 4 year old cat took a little longer, in the day, to try the new food. She did eventually come around and now eats it throughout her day. She's a slow-eater anyway though.

Update! My Personal Review After Using this Product
I have actually been using the Coppertone ClearlySheer a lot now, this season. I've been having to go in the sun a lot more, from running errands, to taking a road trip to Las Vegas for business, this past weekend. The sun is definitely not playing out there :) 

It's an awesome sunscreen because it feels like a moisturizing lotion as well and it doesn't leave a thick residue on my skin, like others have in the past. The smell is pleasant and not overpowering. I find myself using the travel size ClearlySheer often since it's conveniently in my purse. I don't have to force myself to think about using it because I know it's in my purse for me, when I need it. 

I do have to make sure that I don't put it too close to my eyes if I use it on my face, under my make up. So I just put it on the high points of my face, instead of using it like a facial cream protector. I got watery eyes for about 10-15 minutes or so :)


Overall, I will continue to use this sunscreen and would purchase it again.


Avoid Extreme Sun Exposure
Please make sure to pick up a tube or bottle of Coppertone ClearlySheer or their other sunscreens for you and the babies, for the beach, public pool, amusement park outing, or wherever sun exposure finds you. Skin cancer has no ethnicity. I see it all the time, in my work. Be safe out there in the sun!
