Chania Old Town, along the waterfront |
Cruising is a fantastic way to see various cities in international waters. This time, I had the opportunity to visit Chania, a city in Crete. We were supposed to visit Santorini; however, the cable cars were being repaired while we were passing through, so we were redirected to Chania. This city is charming, and the waterfront along Chania Old Town is breathtaking, even in the rain. In the video below, I share a brief recap of my time in Chania. Happy travels!

Hiking at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway: An Adventure to Remember
If you're looking for an unforgettable hiking experience, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway should be at the top of your list. I went to the Palm Springs tram during "Military Days" in July 2024. Nestled in the rugged mountains of Southern California, this unique destination offers a perfect blend of adventure, natural beauty, and tranquility. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your hike at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
The Journey Begins: A Ride Like No Other
Your adventure starts with a thrilling ride on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. This rotating tramcar, the largest of its kind in the world, transports you from the scorching desert floor of the Coachella Valley to the cool, lush wilderness of Mount San Jacinto State Park. The 10-15 minute ride offers panoramic views of the Chino Canyon, and as you ascend, you'll notice the dramatic change in vegetation and temperature – a perfect prelude to your hiking adventure.
Trails for Every Hiker
Mount San Jacinto State Park boasts over 50 miles of hiking trails, catering to all levels of hikers. Here are a few popular options:
1. Desert View Trail

2. Long Valley Discovery Trail

3. Round Valley Trail

4. San Jacinto Peak Trail

Preparing for Your Hike
Before you set off, here are some tips to ensure a safe and enjoyable hike:
- Check the Weather: The weather can change rapidly in the mountains, so be prepared for varying conditions.
- Stay Hydrated: Carry plenty of water, especially if you're hiking in the warmer months.
- Dress in Layers: Temperatures can vary significantly from the desert floor to the mountain top, so dress in layers to stay comfortable.
- Pack Essentials: Bring snacks, a map, sunscreen, and a first aid kit. If you're planning a longer hike, a fully charged phone and a portable charger can be lifesavers.
- Know Your Limits: Choose a trail that matches your fitness level and experience.

Visting Ojai, CA for My Birthday Trip
In this video below, I am visiting Ojai, CA for my birthday trip. I was SO busy during the week on my actual birthday, June 9th, that I had to celebrate during the weekend and explore then too. I like to do something new and different when my birthday comes around. I enjoy learning new things and discovering new places, so I decided to visit Ojai, CA. My good friend enjoyed her visit so I thought that I would make it my travel destination for this year. First, I took a hike in Rose Valley Falls, which led to a beautiful waterfall, hidden in the woods. It was the most memorable part of my trip. Then we ate at a vegan restaurant, checked out some of the shops, and the day was fast approaching evening so we had to get on the road to head back home. I had a pleasant birthday and am very thankful to see another year.
Have you been to Ojai, CA? What did you think? Share in the comments below.
Thanks for watching! Stay safe and well.

#Travel Vlog: Mining Town in Jerome, Arizona Became a Ghost Town
According to historical facts, Jerome was built on top of what was the largest copper mine in Arizona. It produced three million pounds of copper per month, with the mines eventually closing in 1953. Creative artists came to Jerome after it was left a ghost town and transformed it into a successful historical attraction, including boutiques and shops. Now many people visit this unique town on their road trip through Arizona.
Have you been yet? If so, share your experience in the comment section below. If not, I recommend putting it on your bucket list of places to visit.
You may want to try the popular Bobby D's BBQ and Grill while you're there. They have salads for the vegan folks like me too.

In the following video below, you are going to get a glimpse into which fast food chains are popular in China. You will see how they meet the demand, provide good customer service, and anytime access to their food options. Then you will go with me to the Summer Palace in northwest Beijing to see the imperial garden that was in the Qing Dynasty! We will end our day one adventure with a walk to dinner and a quick observation of the stores to shop until you drop.
