#Sunday | Time With God Episode 37: 3 Steps to Befriend Your Problems #JesusCalling #Vlog

Here at Selena Thinking Out Loud, we hope that you are having a pleasant Sunday and your week ahead will be the same. In today's Sunday Time With God, Episode 37, we will learn 3 Steps for Befriending our Problems, after reading the Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence daily devotional for March 5, 2017.

When problems show up in our lives they don't make us feel so good. Sometimes we find ourselves feeling defeated, overwhelmed, depressed, and worthless. However, those are feelings that we can avoid when we understand how to work through our problems and why they show up in the first place, sometimes outside of our control. Befriending our problems may seem a bit far-fetched but the 3 steps in this process will help to explain this much better.

The video below breaks down the daily devotional message in greater detail for you.

The scriptures mentioned today are below. You can follow along with your bible or bible app.

♥ 1 Corinthians 1:23-24

#Sunday Time With God Episode 26: Cheerful Giver #BibleDiscussion

In this Sunday Time With God Episode 26, we learn how to be cheerful givers. During the holiday season and other special occasions, we sometimes feel pressured and burdened to give. This can be financially, emotionally, physically, and even socially.

In God's Word, we learn that in our giving:

  • We cannot give just to give.
  • We must not give if our heart is not in the right place to give.
  • In our giving, God will provide everything we need to be a blessing, the financial resources, knowledge, plans, and instructions.

God will make sure that we are in-line with His divine purpose. When we allow ourselves to be used by God even when we feel like we "don't have enough" or we "don't feel like it", we are then learning how to sow generously and how to be a cheerful giver.

This week, I saw a personal example of God working in my life as a blessing to another. I gave a financial blessing of $50 and was not expecting anything in return. However, God had another plan and on the next day, He had me park my car right next to 10% ($5 bill) of what I gave on the day before. When I opened my car door I happened to look down and saw it. I was completely shocked but realized a few seconds later God was confirming His Word to me, in 2 Corinthians 9:6-15. God is alive and working in our lives. What an example, right?

In today's Bible discussion video below, we learn more about this in 2 Corinthians 9: 6-15. If you have your Bible or Bible app, you can read or follow along with me.

#Sunday Time With God Episode 23: David and Goliath #BibleStory

In this Sunday Time With God Episode 23, we will learn about the Bible Story of David and Goliath, but also how God uses David once he prunes him into the boy that he needed him to be.

David didn't realize that his time in Bethlehem, tending to his father's (Jesse) sheep and protecting them, would lead to saving his people of Israel. God had to work on David's character, his level of Faith, develop his Trust, and make sure that when times got difficult that he knew who to turn to in Prayer. He did all this when David was just a boy! If God can prune a child into a young man of God, how much do you think He desires to do the same for us?

When we feel like we are the underdog going into a situation, God wants us to know that He is willing and able to lead us. God wants to lead us to the resolutions we seek, to the solution that will not only benefit us but those around us, showing learning examples of His Grace and Mercy.

In the following video, I go into more detail surrounding this story of David:

#Sunday Time With God Episode 22: #DoNotWorry #BibleDiscussion #BibleStudy

Initially, we all worry about unexpected things that happen in our lives. We want to resolve our issues as soon as possible but sometimes that takes time. However, what should we do when the solutions to our problems do not show up immediately or when we want them to? That is when God wants us to lean on Him and not continue to worry but give our concerns over to Him.

In this week's Sunday Time With God, we learn what Christ shares with His disciples about worry.
