My Take on the book:
I love reading books like these because they remind me of a Life Time movie. I got into the plot of the story and kept wanting to read more so I could get to the good part lol I personally could relate to the characters in the story because my husband & I are two different people and a flat tire brought us together. This will be a good read for anyone who reads it.

About Bee All Natural:

 The second item I was the Intense Hand & Foot Salve and this works. I have dry cracked heals and I have been using this for almost 2 weeks now and I can see and feel the difference in my heels. Now this doesn't smell the greatest but I love how a little goes a long way. My heels look great.

The Sacrifice Necessary to Win

Last night, while watching the NBA Finals game between the Heat and OKC, I began to go into this deep thought. I started to think about how much sacrifice these men make to be at the top of their game as professional players. For most of them, they find themselves away from home and the only way for their families to stay connected is by watching the television set. 

I believe at times, it must feel like thorns piercing their bodies when they are attacked by their loved ones who don't quite understand the Big Picture.

As I continued into an even deeper level of thought, I realized personally, how much of a sacrifice I must make for my dreams, goals, or better yet, future. Sometimes it takes a lot of hours, sweat and tears, ups and downs, delays and rejections, before you finally reach a level where you can take a breather. The sacrifice of play for work becomes necessary in your minds eye. It becomes your only way of reaching your purpose.


The sacrifice necessary to win is great.
             It is only pursued by a few.

My Chance Encounter with a Furry Dog

This is a cute little story:


Last night, I was coming home from celebrating my birthday and took a little street, I sometimes don't take, but tonight decided it would be closer. As I was approaching, I saw this little fury dog in the middle of the street (it looked exactly like the one in the picture above). There were cars driving right by it and didn't stop! I then saw a young boy, about 14 yrs old with his bike, sitting on the sidewalk looking at it. 


Suddenly, I shouted out, "Are you two okay?". He said, "This dog is in the street and I don't know who it belongs to and it runs away when I try to approach it". I said, well, let's see what we can do. I pulled over and walked over to the little dog. She looked up at me as if she was expecting me to come to save her! We both did a happy dance! What a chance encounter, right? Remember, there are no mistakes.


So...the boy didn't want to go home and leave her and he didn't know what to do. I saw that she had a little blue tag, which is also used for identification now via a chip and told him that I would drive her to the Shelter on Plummer St, about 5 minutes or so, from my house. She was so good in the car and sat right next to me. She was all spread out looking up at me drive. I was telling her that it was going to be okay because we would get her back home. 


When I got her to the Shelter, I found out that the little dog had been there before for licensing and they had the owner's phone number and everything. 


So...I'm calling on tomorrow to see if the owners came by to pick her up. It would give me a peace of mind. 


Tip: Make sure your pet has up-to-date, identification tags on it or get the chip from the shelter because you never know how your little furry friend can get away from you!

I felt good that I could end my birthday on a giving note :)

I Dare You

I dare you, today, to stand up and be who it is you are called to be. You know, the thing that's been pulling at your conscience for the past week or how about years. 


I dare you to start that business and hire those people, out of work, because you know that there is no "I" in team. 


I dare you to write that novel, screenplay, or stage play because I know that it is the only way that you will be able to put to rest the voices that haunt your progression. 


I dare you to take that first walk in your local park because I know that in order to get healthy you have to take the first step. 


I dare you to open your mouth and sing the lyrics to the first track on your album because it's been laying there unheard by the best in the industry because of your self-undermining tendencies. 


I dare you to say "hello" and smile at the one you are fond of because the process of communication is so necessary with love.


I dare you to stand up to who you are truly inside regardless of the friends you will lose or what people may think of you because there is ultimately only One who can judge.

There Are No Mistakes

Recently, I read an article, in U.S. News, about the first doctor to treat President Abraham Lincoln after he was shot by Booth. Dr. Charles Leale, a 23-year-old army surgeon, did not disclose this information publicly until 44 years later after the assassination at Ford's Theater. However, now there is a discovered report of his full account just hours after the president died the following morning.


Did you know that Dr. Leale and Booth were in the same place at the same time during President Lincoln's speech to a crowd celebrating the surrender of Robert E. Lee and the Army of Northern Virginia? 


They say that's where Booth made his final decision to kill the president. (Read Full Article)

What makes this story so interesting to me, in present day, is how freely we move throughout our lives. We have no idea why we meet certain strangers who may or may not become our friends, why we experience unexpected delays or choose to dine at the places we do on a particular day.


Yes, we may move with intention but there is a greater purpose for it all. Just as the six-week old, Dr. Leale, attended the same performance as the president to be the first aid on scene, we are positioned where we are, in this moment, to fulfill our purpose.


Remember, there are no mistakes. Take some time today to notice your surroundings. Sit patiently in your car during traffic jams and be grateful that you may have avoided a real emergency and was protected from it. 


Be relieved by the pink slip that haunts us all unexpectedly to know that there is something greater that you are called to do. Embrace it!


Know that there are no mistakes in this life because this life is truly a mystery that none of us really understand but think we do.

Achieve Obtainable Goals

In order to really understand where you're going and how you plan to proactively get there, you must achieve obtainable goals. As I write this, it's June 1, 2012 and an awesome time to review what you have accomplished in May and how you can improve upon things in June. 


Personally, I have a whiteboard that I bought from Target and posted it in the room where I am most of the time. I can always see it when I'm walking by or turning in my office chair. Every month, I write down goals that "I expect" to complete for the current month only! I don't concentrate on too many months down the road because then I would get myself so overwhelmed. I stick to the obtainable goals that speak to my "now" and make them happen.


In the beginning, I dreaded this task because I just didn't understand it's value. I would write things down on paper or a little notebook and would forget about them. Then I took a course with Christy English called The Actor's Edge and everything totally gained perspective. During this course we would have to write down our monthly goals and we were accountable to completing those goals. I have accomplished so many goals that I could not have accomplished if I didn't have an accountability partner. Now, it's been about a year or so since this course and I am still writing down my goals and making things happen in my acting career. I have completed two independent films and now on another goal with the representation race by Dallas Travers.


It doesn't matter what field of work you're in. If you are a blogger, actor, manager, small business owner or singer, the best advice I can give you is to get the white board and start writing your obtainable goals down for one month at a time and read them everyday to get them into your daily activities and watch the path to getting them accomplished show up for you. 


I hear the saying all the time, "Rome was not built in one day". So goals are the bricks, glue, and step-by-step instruction to get us to our personal cities of Rome.
