#Sunday | Time With God #VLOG Episode 49: Open Your Heart To God's Presence #JesusCalling #BibleDiscussion

It's Memorial Day Weekend and Story Time Sunday, Time With God, Episode 49! Today we are going to dive right in and learn the importance of opening our heart to God's Presence

When you first learn about the Lord, it may not be as exciting for you as it was for me. Today I thought about comparing this to meeting a stranger for the first time and not knowing what to expect. Initially, you have your guard up and hesitant to trust them. It's not until you spend time with them that you realize that they are actually pretty cool and worth hanging out with to develop a potential friendship. Before you know it, you are best of friends for many, many, years. This is a similar case when first becoming aware of the Lord. He is foreign to you and you have to take time to come into His Presence to grow and mature in Him. He is open to anointing us with His Presence if we are open to drawing close to him.

We will be reading from the daily devotional, Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, for May 28, 2017. If you have your copy and your Bible follow along with me in the video below.

These are the Bible scriptures that help us even more to understand this message:

♥ James 4:8

♥ Acts 17:28

Selena Thinking Out Loud spent the day in Marina del Rey, CA for MarinaFest and Boat Show 2017.

It was a beautiful day with lots to see and do for the entire family. I also had a nice boat ride, learning about the city and the surrounding boats, hotels, and saw sea lions sun-bathing too! SO cool!

Have you been on a fun outing so far this year? Share your adventure in the comments below.

Here's a recap vlog of my outing...

#Sunday | Time With God VLOG Episode 48: God is With Us and Supports Us #JesusCalling #BibleDiscussion

Happy Sunday! I hope you are well. Today is Story Time Sunday, Time With God, Episode 48. Today we will learn that God has overcome the World so that we may have Life but also abundant life. As we continue to read from the daily devotional of the year, Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, turn with me to May 21, 2017 and follow along with the video below.

We will discover that God wants to build a strong, solid, relationship with us. He wants to support us when we are feeling fantastic and also when times are tough and we feel down and out. However, it's not that easy when our minds are always trying to steer us back into our old ways of thinking and dealing with situations. In those times, we must redirect our minds back on God and spend time in His Presence.

These are the Bible scriptures that help us even more to understand this message:

Romans 8:31-32
♥ Micah 7:7

In the daily devotional, Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, turn with me to May 14, 2017 and follow along with me in the video below as we go deeper into the message for us today.

Vegan Stuffed Peppers #Vlog #CookingatHome

Selena Thinking Out Loud decided to prepare some Vegan Stuffed Peppers for dinner, after getting some green peppers in our recent Farm Fresh to You organic produce box. If you live in California, you can get $15 Off your first box with coupon code SELE8487. I'm always excited to get my fruits and vegetables because they are fresh, locally-grown, at local farms, and I can come up with new recipes and meal ideas each week. I have been using the delivery service for 1+ years now.

Since transitioning to a vegan lifestyle, I enjoy cooking more at home. I find that the food seems a bit fresher and I rarely have upset stomach. That's always a plus. If you give this recipe a try, let me know in the comments below. I look forward to reading about your experience.

In the following video, I share a quick vlog of my cooking process. The recipe has been written out below as well.

Vegan Stuffed Peppers
Ingredients
3 Green Peppers, chop remaining tops for stuffing
1-2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 Green Onions
2 Cloves Garlic
1 bunch of chard
1 pkg Yves Vegan Veggie Ground
1/2 C Pasta Sauce
1 C Daiya Cheddar Style Shreds (sit aside a portion for tops of green peppers)
Herbs and Spices, for seasoning

Instructions
PREPARE PEPPERS
1. Cut tops off peppers and remove all seeds. Then you can bake them a bit with
a little water in a pan, covered, for 10 mins in the oven. Then sit to the side.

PREPARE YOUR STUFFING
1. Boil your rice and sit to the side.
2. In a saucepan, add extra virgin olive oil, garlic, green onions, chopped tops from the green
peppers, and seasonings. Let soften and brown a bit.
3. Then add chard to the saucepan and let heat up with the other vegetables.
4. Add the Yves Veggie Cuisine, Vegan Veggie Ground, to the saucepan. Let it heat up with other
vegetables.
5. Add pasta sauce to the saucepan and stir.
6. Add the daiya Cheddar Style Shreds to the saucepan and stir.
7. Let the stuffing mixture cool for 5 minutes before adding to the green peppers.

Bake at 375 and cover with a lid for aluminum foil for 20 - 30 mins, depending

on how quickly they become tender and the daiya Cheddar Style Shreds melt.

Serves 3.

Enjoy!

My Outing to VegFest 2017 in Los Angeles #Vlog #VeganFestival

Selena Thinking Out Loud attended VegFest 2017, a vegan festival with food, LIVE bands, food demonstrations, discussion panels, health and wellness, and lots for the kids to do. It was a great way to get informed about living a vegan lifestyle without all of the hype, stigma, and misinformation.

Personally, I transitioned to a vegan lifestyle last year, after being a vegetarian for about 14 years. So it was good to get lots of information on products, foods, and other vegans' experiences. Initially, I thought that I would miss ice cream and cheese, which were my only "big 2", but I found that it was actually not a big deal at all.

If you're curious about all of the happenings at the vegan festival, VegFest 2017, then check out my vlog below!
