It was said right, "When
the going gets tough, the tough gets going."
When you possess the hunger to keep going when times are not going according to "your" plan, then you know you have arrived. Two weekends ago now, I began acting in the fan film, Halo:The Fallen and really getting down and committed to my role as gunny.
Since this time, I have felt the hunger inside of me grow tremendously to want even more from my acting journey. I desire to create even more short films and write even more scripted content that I find interesting to share with others through my production company, SVB Productions.
My desire to get back out there to continue the mission is ingrained so deep within me, for this project and future ones to come. My hunger to keep going is what keeps me focused and drives me to not measure my progress by watching the progress of others but to celebrate where I am, how far I've come, and where I am going in MY future.
I always tell myself and say to others,"it only takes one opportunity to change your life," when someone asks me about acting. I can't sit here and tell you that 'the one opportunity' will come as soon as you enter the business, but I will tell you that if you maintain your hunger for this career, set your own goals, focus on what YOU want and NOT what you DON'T want, and believe that you are good enough despite the critics, you will eventually find the opportunity.
No matter how far you venture into your career as an actor, believe me, it will be a learning experience. You will learn what not to do, how to respond to different people and how to be the bigger person in some situations. No one's acting career or journey will be the same. However, know that it is a part of the process of finding who you are and what you stand for as an actor.
