American Idol Season 11 - Joshua Ledet & Jessica Sanchez

This year I have been glued to the television on Wednesday and Thursday nights. It is definitely no surprise to anyone who have been watching the talent on Season 11 of American Idol.
I actually look forward to watching this show because the talent is "for real". When I say "for real" I mean, they sing with a mission to transform the way their fans view music, their lives and how passion can bring about a movement in so many people to vote for them.

They all live in the moment of the songs they sing and give you all they have to give. I do believe that there are some that possess the "total package" but no matter what, America is in the driver's seat with the ability to vote for their favorites.

Music is a powerful weapon. It can change people's lives, deliver souls and repair emotional burdens that we all have faced from time to time. I definitely feel that music has changed tremendously from songs with a purpose to teach, tell a story, spotlight social issues and reparation; to now producing music for a quick buck or for popularity. During this American Idol season, it is truly refreshing to hear the songs of the past and how powerful of a presense they still possess.

On tonight's showing, where the Top 4 had to deliver their best AND some, there were two that really stood out. First, I could not get enough of the James Brown selection, sung by Joshua Ledet. Joshua took the audience to church, along with one of the judges, Jennifer Lopez. Personally, I had chill bumps and continue to feel a huge desire to watch American Idol again on tomorrow night. It was not only about how well he sung but how he controlled the stage and how everyone worked in one unit to tackle a beast of a song we all remember by the late and great, James Brown, It's A Man's Man's Man's World.

Second, the lovely, Jessica Sanchez proved that she deserves to be on the Idol stage with her final selection of the night to close the show, And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going by Jennifer Holliday. Yes, we have heard this song numerous times but I do believe that if you are going to sing it, you better SANG! Jessica did just that and deserves to be in the final two as well alongside Joshua Ledet.

American Idol has been exciting to watch this season and I have to agree with Randy that Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez are talents to watch in the music industry.
